History of London Ontario Airport

The London International Airport's history goes back to the 1920s, and it played a vital role in WWII as a Royal Canadian Air Force base. An information display inside and a T-33 a Silver Star Aircraft at the airport's entrance honours this history -- a real treat for kids and aviation fans of all ages.

Recently the airport has been expanding. In 2010 they spent $6.5 million on expansion and improvements and they haven't stopped. More passenger seating is being added to the departure lounge and new food and beverage areas are coming.
